Janet M. Case

Janet Marilyn (Jazab) Case, a lifelong resident of Chicopee, passed away unexpectedly Monday, October 26, 2015. She was born on October 30, 1942 and married her Chicopee High School sweetheart, David Case, on October 27, 1962. They raised two loving daughters, Wendryn Case of Chicopee and Bonnie Johnson of Enfield, CT. Janet was the proud grandmother of Lilli and Marguerite Johnson. She is survived by her sister, Carol Ziemian and husband, the Honorable Robert P. Ziemian, of Westwood, MA; her loving son-in-law, Eric Johnson; her brother-in-law Stanley Czapla of Vernon, CT and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, David; her parents, John and Stella Jazab; and her sister, Joan Czapla. Janet loved flowers and hummingbirds, was an avid gardener, and delighted in water aerobics with friends and days at the beach with her family. She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Archer of Holyoke, then at Paige’s Pharmacy in Chicopee and for several years as a pharmacy tech at CVS, Ludlow. Her body will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Chicopee, alongside her husband, but they are already reunited as soulmates and with their Savior Jesus Christ. Calling hours will be held Sunday, November 1st from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East Street in Chicopee Falls. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home also on Monday, Nov. 2 at 9:00 a.m. for the procession and burial at Fairview Cemetery. The memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at First Central Baptist Church, 50 Broadway Street in Chicopee. Donations may be made to the church or a charity of your choice.
