Dear Alan,

Although I only knew Patti for a very short time, I could tell that she was the kind of person any one would aspire to become. She was so kind and caring, I was always happy to sit and talk or to discuss the day's events.
I'm so sorry I didn't have the opportunity to join you in Philly.

May her memory be a blessing.

Alan, Ari, and Joel, working with Patti for three years was a treasured highlight in my ministry. I so enjoyed maintaining contact with her long after I'd left Muhlenberg. You have so much of which to be proud in your wife's and mom's legacy. Please know I join the legions of people who share in your grief and are keeping you in their hearts and minds.

Condolences from a 1990 graduate (Steve Goldman).
I will always remember her efforts to establish a stronger Hillel while I was a student on campus.

I never met Patti, but I joined the Muhlenberg Hillel team as their Programs and Engagement Associate in August, 2013, and I could see and feel the incredible legacy she created through decades of hard work and trailblazing. The close-knit community, the homey and palacial building, the wholesome relationship with local organizations. The only reason Muhlenberg became such a hot spot for Jewish campus life is Patti Mittleman. She made it a safe, nurturing, enriching environment for all emerging Jewish young adults. Built from the ground up.
I never knew Patti, but her legacy is what inspired me to pursue a career in the Jewish nonprofit world. I am now in my 6th year with Hillel (though at Columbia/Barnard now), pursuing an MA in Jewish Education at JTS.
May her memory continue to be a blessing for all of us.
Sending wishes for comfort and healing to her surviving loved ones,
Jaimie Krass

Patti welcomed my family to Allentown, but more importantly to the community. Her philosophy of education and committed humanity were a major influence on my development as a professor, and her example still benefits my/her students to this day. Thank you, Patti.

Sending love to the entire Mittleman family. I graduated in 90 and during that time Patti was a source of help , support and the Jewish Mom I needed. Thinking of you at this difficult time.

I worked with Patti many years at Muhlenberg College. She was a consummate professional who lovingly grew Hillel into a prominent campus group. Patti became the Jewish mom on campus to many students, Jewish and non-Jewish.

My deepest sympathies to Alan, Joel and Ari. You were always the center of her world. May Patti's memory be a blessing to your family forever.

We will always remember Patti's kindness to our son Zack, when he was a high school senior considering Muhlenberg. He missed his plane home to California and Patti had him stay over at her house. She and Alan were so hospitable to Zack and to the other students. Through Zack's years at the College and beyond, Patti remained a caring presence.
She was the epitome of what a Hillel Director should be. Her memory shall always be a blessing

I knew Patti well when she was at Muhlenberg. She was an inspiration to thousands of students, and she was instrumental in making Muhlenberg Hillel one of the most prominent Hillel organizations in the country, and at a Lutheran school at that. She will be missed

Patti, quite simply, changed my life forever. Words cannot suffice to express the depth of sorrow I feel, coupled with overwhelming gratitude that I had the privilege to live in her time. She was, is, and always will be a shining example to us all.
