Vicky: I am so sorry to hear of Ken's passing. He was one of the best. Ken was a fighter and so often with a smile and a positive attitude. He bounced back from job changes, moves, cancer, hip replacements and infections. He was always smiling and would do whatever he could for you. Curious, polite, patriotic.
Photographer: Ken had a small personal photo business. A collection of backgrounds in the basement and cameras including his favorites Hasselblad's. I remember walking at work trying out his new 3-D camera. He sent one of the pictures to the company's president who appreciated it and thanked him. We were planning a trip to a park in PA to take pictures of the spring flowers.
Computer geek: I met Ken while working at Beneficial. His knowledge was extensive and through, but he was best at listening to the users and doing whatever he could to help them.
Musician: He had an impressive collection of the best guitars and enjoyed playing them. Said he wanted to get out of the hospital so he could go home and play guitar.
Homeowner: Cancer kept him home for quite a few years. He proudly flew the American flag, and contrary to doctors orders - would sneak out back to mow the lawn.
He will be missed terribly. I'm glad to have called him my friend. After Covid I hope to take a trip south and stop at Williamsburg, Va., and maybe take in Musikfest in Bethlehem. He spoke often of both.

Sis, my shoulders are always here for you to lean on, cry on, whatever your need may be. . I'm always only a phone call away. You and Ken were the perfect couple. If I looked the entire world over I'd never find another brother-in-law like Ken. I've retired "Hump Day", it won't ever be the same.
Know that I'm hugging you in prayer as we petition our Heavenly Father to encircle you with comfort, strength, Grace and Blessings.
Love you forever and always
Your Sis and forever Ken's

Vicky, our hearts go out to you. We remember Ken's love of so many things.
Like Dave Barto, we have fond memories of the several years Ken was a key part of a delightful group called "The Mama and NO Papas." They brought cheer to coffee houses, churches, and anywhere someone wanted a musical lift. For some background to those who may not be familiar, my wife Martha (who has two children) was the "Mama" and played violin. Dr. Fran Mayville (the "ringleader," married, but had no children) was a "NO Papa" and played guitar, percussion, and sang, Ken (also married but with no children) played a variety of his prized guitars, sang, and was also a "NO Papa," Keith (then 19 years old and single) played the bass & sometimes guitar was the third "NO Papa." When I introduced the group, I'd often say (with a smile -and perhaps wink- at the end of the intro), "... and my son Keith, 19, single, and he'd better NOT be a Papa."
Because of his experience, Fran may have been the "ringleader," but Ken was the driving force and heart/soul of the group. It would never have happened without him.
Besides Ken's many loves and interests, I'll always remember his incredible generosity and immediate willingness to help others. He will never be forgotten and will forever be missed by all who knew and loved him. Martha holds dear the phone conversations she had with him in the hospital; Martha is grateful and thankful Ken reached out and called. Besides reminiscing, they talked about things he most wanted to do when he became well enough to leave the hospital. We were so shocked and saddened to hear of dear Ken's passing.
Virtual hugs to you and an open invitation for you to contact us anytime,
Kreg (and Martha) Ulery
