Robert B. Mauk

Robert B. Mauk, 79, of Wesbury United Methodist Community, Meadville, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, at Meadville Medical Center.Born in Indiana on July 25, 1929, he was a son of Brice and Lillian Muckle Mauk. On Nov. 11, 1967, he married Dorothy Damico.He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving between 1946 and 1949.He retired as a toolmaking supervisor with Starlite Division.He enjoyed golf and was an avid hunter.Survivors, in addition to his wife of 40 years, include a son, Robert F. Mauk of Carlton; four daughters, Cheryl Bacher and her husband, Bill, of Texas, Barbara Bittenbender of York, Amy Johnson of South Carolina and Lisa Mauk of Meadville; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.No calling hours or services are planned.The family suggests memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Crawford Unit, 464 Pine St., Meadville, Pa. 16335.Arrangements are under the direction of Roofner-Collins Funeral Home Inc., 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.
