Mary Ravizza Obituary
Resident of Los Altos
After a brief struggle with cancer, Dianne passed from this life on April 21st surrounded and supported by family. Born on May 17th, 1930 to Edgar & Mary Schott. She was raised in Santa Clara with her brothers, Larry (deceased) and Steve. She attended St. Clare's grammar school, Notre Dame High School and San Jose State.
Dianne was woman of deep faith, and to many, a trusted and steadfast friend. She was a loyal wife to her husband, Gene Ravizza, a loving mother to her children, Claranne Long (Tim), Mark Ravizza S.J., and Greg Ravizza (Kathleen), and cherished grandmother to, Jenna Johnson (Jareb), Matt Long, Chris Long, Elena Ravizza and Luke Ravizza.
She was especially passionate about supporting women and students in need, serving a number of charitable organizations and schools including Sacred Heart Nativity School, Hope Services, Saint Francis High School, Ladies of Charity, and founding Cocoon, which supported women in crisis pregnancies. Dianne was also civic minded, serving Santa Clara County (grand jury and parole board),
A Vigil (Thursday, April 24th, 7 pm) and Funeral Mass (Friday April 25th, 10 am) will both be held at St. William Church, 611 S. El Monte Ave., Los Altos.

Dianne was a loving and caring person and very interesting to be around. She belonged to many orginizations which gave her a chance to support many people in need of help. Dianne, a former educator and past member of the Saint Francis Board of Directors, was an inspiration to us all. She cared deeply for the students of our school and supported all in need. She is fondly remembered by the entire Saint Francis Community and we send our thoughts and prayers.

Aunt Dianne was a "woman for others"; I will miss her keen insights, penetrating questions and great sense of humor. I deeply admired her willingness to take on challenges and seek new solutions . And in all things her style and grace left her special signature.; she lived life "her way"!

We have so many fond memories of Dianne's wonderful, loving presence in our lives. We were recently reflecting on how she was instrumental in how the course of our lives unfolded... Starting with introducing my parents on a blind date, as well as other significant events over the years.
