Max Flindt

Max Flindt Passed away suddenly at Santa Clara Kaiser Oct. 29, 2004 at the age of 89. San Jose native, and resident of Los Altos for over 40 years. Life-long San Jose native Homer Eon Flindt, father, Pioneer science fiction Writer. His mother, of Virginia City, well loved Nevada City school teacher, Mabel E. (Williams) Flindt. He is predeceased by his wife Elfriede E. (Angermayer) Flindt, sister Villa Berryman, and close friend George N. Higer. Survived by sister Bonnie Palmer and daughters, Kathleen (Roger Walsh) of Auburn, Diane Flindt (Don Judas) of TX, where the deceased's former wife, Margaret (Philbrick) Flindt lives, formerly of Santa Rosa, CA where resides son, Chris Flindt (Nancy McAravy). Grandchildren Brian, Karin, Elaine, Elsa and Daniel.

Max owned 'Flindt's Watch Repair, Gold and Jewelry' on Commercial St. Nevada City. He was a WWII Veteran serving in the Asiatic Pacific, 78 Naval CB, Hon. Discharge, 2 Stars. He was also a Senior Lab Tech, Lawrence Radiation Laboratory at Berkeley under Doctors Edward Teller, Glen Seaborg, Melvin Calvin, Lab Analyst at Lockheed Space Research and at Stanford, Assistant to late Professor Emeritus, Percival Baumberger. Founding Member, Ancient Astronaut Society. He published 'Mankind Child of the Stars' and 'Between the Apes and the Angels'.

Services will be held Thursday Nov 4, 2004. Coordination of a home visitation by Spangler Mortuary of Los Altos, 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. Friday, Nov 5, 2004. Burial 1:00 p.m. at (Hooper and Weaver) Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetery, 459 Hollow Way, Nevada City. Graveside tribute with Honor guards WWII Veterans.
