I worked with Steve in Leominster. All of my memories of him involve his laugh. Whether it was Monte G finding out Bulah isn't her name or watching him laugh at Saturday Night Live. He took my marked cruiser to pick up his daughter from a dance. He cried laughing when a man came in to complain about being treated like a mamaluke. I started to miss him when I stopped working with him. I'm very sorry for your loss.

Mary, my heart goes out to you and your family over Steve's passing. Steve was one of a kind and I'm sure the younger nine will all agree that they couldn't have asked for a better oldest brother. I was recently sharing some of Steve's trooper stories with my son, and we were laughing hysterically. Steve was a great guy and always a pleasure to be with.

Steve helped me through a tough time when my wife was ill. He was the nicest man I ever met. My heart goes out to Mary, Megan, and Jamie. I still like to tell one of his jokes that he shared in the teachers' room at the middle school.

Dear Megan and Family,
As a kid who grew up in Boston and whose mom was a Flannery, I read the Irish Sports Pages every day. I'm so sorry to learn of the loss of your dad.
You may recall I coached you and my daughter Marissa in soccer many, many years ago. I remember your dad well because, unlike so many parents who dropped their kids off and went home, your dad was always there at practices and games.
I remember him well also because we shared Boston heritage and because of his physical presence - he was a big guy.
Please know that our family is thinking of you and your family.
Stay well and safe.
Best,
Steve Marx

My sincere condolences to Steve's family, never was there a nicer and more sincere man and professional law enforcement officer as he; he always made the State Police proud. I had the privilege and honor to work alongside of Steve over the course of my career, he was always thoughtful and compassionate; and always had the safety of his partners foremost. May he rest in peace knowing he brought joy to others and left this world a better place because of his unselfishness.

Mary, Jamie and Megan Judy and me had the distinct privilege to know and call Steve a friend. He was certainly one of a kind as he possessed a sense of humor that could turn any situation whether serious or otherwise into something that would not only make you smile, but laugh out loud,(even if you were in church) he will be sorely missed by us, and I'm sure all those who knew him. God Bless my friend.

Steve was my classmate at Cathedral High and a wonderful friend from Dorchester. He was always ready to help people out and lift their spirits. Thankfully, Steve was with us for the 50th reunion of the CHS class of 1968. He offered his investigative skills to help locate many classmates. My condolences to Steve's family. He spoke so lovingly and proudly of you. We are all blessed to have known him. May he rest in peace.
