Richard Collins Obituary

Richard D. Collins, 72, of Marlborough died Saturday, July 30, 2011 at UMass Memorial Medical Center after a long illness. He was the husband of Patricia D. (MacDonald) Collins for the last 34 years. He was born in Boston, the son of John and Marie (MacDonald) Collins, and was a graduate of Bainbridge High School in New York. He was a self-employed salesman of Wholesale Dry Goods for many years, and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. He leaves three sons, Joseph P.R. Collins and his wife Carla of Marlborough, Scott T. Collins and his wife Jenn of Framingham and Matthew J. Collins of Framingham; a brother, John Collins, Jr. of Delaware; two sisters, Lorraine DeBethencourt of Billerica and Janet MacKay of Florida; and two grandchildren, Taylor Collins of Marlborough and Tristan Collins of Framingham. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, Aug. 4, at 9 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street, Marlborough. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Aug. 3, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.CollinsFuneral.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. The Collins'sare a very big part of my family we grew up together and Rich is One of my dad's best friends I all ways saw them together an dRich was like an uncle to me, he wa sso nice and always there with a helping hand if we needed him!! he is going to be miss alot!!. you all are in my thoughts and prayers!!

condolances to you all! Rich was a good man and good friend to my Dad Jim.I remember growing up and every time he called or came to visit he would say"this is Rich Collins from A 6?? is your Dad home??" Rich you will be missed but I am glad your at peace.
