Dick was such a kind and noble person. I had the pleasure of working with him at the Connecticut General Assembly. His voice on environmental issues was poignant. I'm sad to know that he's no longer here on earth, but I know his spirit and work are still here - pushing the needle forward. God bless.

I used to work as a legislative aide at the Capitol and got to know Dick through his legislative work. For some of that time, I had a desk in the Environment Committee while he was a Co-Chair. He certainly was ahead of the curve on a number of issues including plastic bags, GMOs, and especially distracted driving. Dick always had a smile and a joke to share and he would just light up when he spoke of his beloved family. I remember the first time he wore a tie with pictures of his granddaughter. He was so proud to show it off to everyone he saw. He served his district well and he did so with such kindness and humility. He will be missed. My condolences to his wife and family.
