Philip Lance Cockerham, 77, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at his home in Hamilton. Born on March 12, 1948 in Aberdeen, he was a son to John Allen, Sr. and Georgia Mae Garner Cockerham. He grew up in Hamilton and was a 1966 graduate of Hamilton High School. Graduating from Itawamba Junior College, he also attended Ole Miss. On May 30, 1971, he married the former Judy Nevins and for many years, he was a self-employed contractor before retirement. He enjoyed grilling and being with his family especially watching them play sports. His hobbies included fishing and playing golf. He was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Center Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Dennis Smithey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In addition to his wife, Judy Cockerham, he is survived by two sons, Wesley Cockerham (Lisa), Spring Hill, TN and Tracey Cockerham (Sonya), Hamilton; daughter, Philana Cockerham, Hamilton; two brothers, Terry Cockerham and Kevin Cockerham (Cindy), both of Hamilton; sister, Lisa Martin (Charlie), Trussville, AL; grandchildren, Shannon Hawkins (Evan), Gracie Williams (Jacob), Icie Cockerham, Grayson Cockerham, Georgia Cockerham, Mollie Fast (Rylan), Jacob Parker, Colton Cockerham, and Addie Mae Cockerham; was expecting his great granddaughter, Charlotte 'Charlie' Williams; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Lynda Cockerham; and brother, John Allen Cockerham, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Cockerham, Terry Cockerham, Danny Holloway, Colton Cockerham, Grayson Cockerham, and Evan Hawkins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Center Hill Cemetery.
