Danny Corbett, 67, formerly of Phenix City, AL, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at his residence in Pike Road, AL surrounded by his family.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM EST (3:00 PM CST), on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Vance Memorial Chapel, Phenix City, AL, with Mitch Watts officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00 until 4:00 PM EST (1:00 PM until 3:00 PM CST), prior to the service, at the funeral home.
Mr. Corbett was born on May 1, 1949 in Columbus, GA son of the late James A. Corbett and Alice Marie Hallmark Corbett. He began his career with Bellsouth, which later transitioned to AT&T. Mr. Corbett served 12 years in the Alabama Senate, from 1982 to 1994. Most recently, he worked in Real Estate and operated his own business as a Lobbyist. Additionally, he served his country in the Army National Guard.
He is survived by his former spouse, Peggy Corbett McClain; his companion, Carla Rush of Pike Road, AL; one daughter, Dana Grace Murphy and husband Andy of Phenix City, AL; three sons, Chance Corbett and wife Jennifer, Heath Corbett, and Brandon Corbett, all of Phenix City, AL; one brother, Mike Corbett and wife Jan of Phenix City, AL; five grandchildren, Taylor Corbett, Kirstine Smith, Colten Corbett, Gracen Corbett and Alice Corbett; many other extended family members and caring friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org/donate.

Danny work with Bellsouth/AT&T with my husband. When I had Deep South Supply in Hurtsboro he never came through Hurtsboro without stopping to say hello and find out how the family was doing. His first child Chance spent the night at our home the first time he ever spent the night away from home. He will truly be missed by many. I am so sorry for your loss. Martha Nell and Will Persons

Wow I just saw where Danny passed away and we knew him very well when we worked with him at bellsouth many years ago. Always enjoyed his friendship and he was a really nice man! Prayers for his family and God bless them during this time.
