Quapaw - Richard (Rick) Edwin Evans, 73 June 17,1947 – March 9, 2021 A resident of Quapaw, Ok. Rick was born in Pittsburg, Ks to Theo Evans and Norma Clugston (Evans). Rick graduated from Pittsburg Highschool of Pittsburg, Ks and served in the Airforce National Guard. He was a accomplished pattern cabinet builder, talented in restoring any type of woodwork, as he did for the 1992 movie "KansasCity".
Rick enjoyed raising and showing Great Danes, in 1991 his dog "Moses" was Grand Champion of the Great Dane Club of KansasCity. His passions included pursuing his ancestory with the Pawnee Indian, Playing poker and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was survived in death by his wife Carol (Green) Evans who resides in Quapaw, Ok, his daughter Shauna Shepherd – Hill formerly from Wichita, Ks and Girard, Ks her husband Robert (Shane) Hill, Grandchildren David Worley, Kaela Lopez-Chavero and Lauren Sams. Great Grandchildren Rylee, Reid and Raya Worley and Nolan and Miles Burns-Sams. Siblings Debbie (Eifler) Evans, Steve Evans and Jill (Clugston) Harsh.
Preceeded in death by his parents Theo Evans of Arma,KS and mother Norma (Clugston) Evans of Pittsburg, Ks and his Son James (Jay) Whitney Evans of Shawnee, Ks and Lifelong Friend Frank Boldrini of Pittsburg, Ks.
Rest in Peace "Shunka-Gleska". Run with the spotted dog. Soar with the mighty Eagle and sing with the Blue Jay. We will dance again at the beautiful colors of the Sunset.
Friends and Family may send tribute to the Brown- Winters Funeral Home of Miami, Ok to be presented to the Quapaw Indian Foundation for Children.
