Christopher Shull Obituary

Christopher Proctor Shull passed away Saturday 22, 2012. He was born October 28, 1954, to Harold B. and Joann Proctor Shull of Midland. He attended Midland High School, Southern Methodist University and the University of Texas. Chris "Topher" Shull, along with his mother and sisters, was owner of Kentucky Street Warehouse, New York Street Warehouse, and the Proctor Family Ranch. Since his early youth, Chris enjoyed the fun times he spent with family and friends at Inks Lake, fishing on the Rio Grande, and generally anywhere there was laughter and amiable chatter. March Madness was his favorite time of year, rooting his Longhorns on. He looked forward to reading the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and especially the Dallas Morning News. Chris also found peace and joy in reading the Bible and quoting scripture. German Shepherd dogs were special to Chris. He either found them or they found him, with both finding rewarding companionship. Survivors include his wife, Kathy; beloved step-daughter, Sidney; mother, Joann; two sisters, Cecily Shull and Cheryl Cotner; two nieces, Adrienne and Aubrey Ticer; and uncle, Richard Shull. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Leonard and Evelyn Proctor; father, Harold Shull; sister, Candy Shull; and his nephew, Eddie Cotner. A memorial service will be held at 230 Clear Creek Rd, Inks Lake, Texas, on October 28, 2012, at Noon. All are welcome. Much appreciation is given to faithful employee, William Zumwalt. A special thanks to Hospice of Midland for their compassionate help during the last five years. The family requests memorials be directed to Hospice of Midland, P.O. Box 2621, Midland, Texas 79702-2621 or SPCA Midland, 2701 S. County Rd. 1206, Midland, Texas 79706. Online condolences may be made at: www.ellisfuneral.com.

Only you and I know all of the real ins and outs of our friendship and the eventful journey that it has been. I rest easy knowing that you are at peace with everything, and I take comfort in the fact that you are up there smiling down and protecting the ones that you have loved and blessed so much. You are without a doubt a great, amazing man and you are already sorely missed. I will miss your ridiculously quick wit, wicked sense of humor, wise words, your passion for sports, your laugh, and your huge heart. So long friend. I love you Chris!

Cheryl and Cecily,
I'm so, so sorry for the loss of your brother. I loved Chris' sense of humor, and I can hear his laughter right now. Take comfort in knowing he's with Candy and your dad, and I'm sure they're having a huge laugh of their own!
Hugs to you both,

Chris, I will never forget the time we spent together as teenagers in young Republicans trying to get Nixon re-elected in 72'. Our paths separated in college and we did not run into each other again until 2008 when you started coming into my tanning salon while you were in Midland.
By that time your health was poor, but you still always had a smile on your face and a kind word.
You made the world a better place Chris. Thank you and by the grace of God we will see you later.

Chris..you will be greatly missed although I only knew you for 4 months you made a great impact on my life, you taught me to always be happy and thank the lord for all we have, you also taught me how to make a mean "green Chile cheese burger" that was your favorite and if it didn't make you feel better, we didn't know what would..God bless you Chris, I know you're in a much happier and worry free place you brought so much happiness to everyone around you including myself we will miss you friend.

Now when you get to heaven Harold is gonna want you to do some work so get your alarm clock oiled up he hated when you were late for work. To frickn funny! Your my best pal big guy! PEACE

Dearest Chris, You know how much I love you. I will miss you dearly. I'll always remember the great times we had together. The "tortilla", "fiddle fart", farkel, jammin to Mrs. Jones, forgetting your pay check, and being there for me at my going away party when it was a rough night are just a few of my wonderful memories of times we shared. You were a great friend and I will miss you. Heaven just got a new angel and you get to see all your "pups" again.

Sincere sympathy and prayers to all your family. Love, Valerie
