Bettye Johnson Jones

Johnson Jones Bettye Johnson Jones passed away in Midland, on Monday, April 23, 2012, at the age of 84. A memorial service will be held at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel, in Midland, at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 26, 2012. Bettye is to be cremated and her ashes will be buried next to her parents, Viola Calaway and William Bolton Johnson, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ft. Worth, Texas. Bettye is survived by her husband, Charles R. Jones; three daughters, Charla Lynn Jones, Fran Elaine Norwood, and Claire Lee Hinkle; and four grandsons. Bettye was born in Ft. Worth, graduated from Polytechnic High School, and received a bachelor's of education from Sul Ross University. She taught fourth and fifth grades in Texas and Oklahoma, during her career. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Midland and Yucca Garden Club. She was a loving wife and mother, a devoted friend, and a lover of animals, flowers, and books.
