I knew Charlie during most of the 1970s. We lost touch in the early 80s. Back then he was a good friend, quick with a smile, had a ribald sense of humor and an encyclopedic mind. I have a particular memory: We were at a friends house. I was in the backyard holding a hose watering the garden. Charlie came over(he was wearing a shirt and tie)he crouched down to look at a plant and started a conversation. As I turned towards him the hose turned with me. He didn't flinch, didn't miss a beat, kept on talking seemingly oblivious to the fact that he'd just been drenched. He was unflappable. Rest in peace Chuck.

I am truly saddened by the passing of Charlie. I knew him for 27 years as he practiced law across the street from my boss on Bayard Street. Charlie was a unique individual who never compromised on his ideals or principles. While I have not seen him in several years, I have missed our banter and will miss it now ever so much more because I will never again have the chance for one more exchange of witty words with Charlie. Rest well with God Charlie...you are missed.

Charlie was much more than a cousin to me. He was more like a big brother. He was there for me in good times and bad, and was never too busy for me. I loved him and will miss him dearly, every day! RIP, Chuck!

I am very shocked and saddened to hear of Charlie's passing. I worked for him for many years. He was a good friend, an honest man and true gentleman. He will forever have a place in my heart. Rest in Peace my friend.

Ever since we moved into our apartment, 3 doors down, Charlie was nothing short of the epitome of a great neighbor. Besides letting us borrow various tools and lawn/gardening devices, we would always ignite into some deep conversations about local-world politics and/or our views on scientific-paranormal inquiries. He was always generous with whatever grew from his garden and gave Laur many cherished tips to try and get our garden to look as beautiful as his. He was our first real friend when we moved in and not only will we miss him, but we will cherish the good times we shared together. We love you Charlie and will finish our debates on the other side.

I've known Charlie from grammar school right through high school, and then reconnected later when he became lawyer for my wife and me. He was a friend who cared and who stood by you in practical, real ways. We'll miss him.

Charlie was a dear friend, neighbor and mentor, too honest to sell out. His absence leaves a hole in the hub city.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Renda. I worked with him during the time he was Attorney for the New Brunswick Planning Board in the early 70's. Always with a smile a very sweet person. Rest in peace.
