Daniel Swarbrick Obituary
AGE: 57 • Piscataway
Daniel Swarbrick, 57, passed away on August 13, 2012 at the University Hospital in Newark, NJ.
Born in Bayonne, he lived in Piscataway for most of his life.
Dan was a musician, writer, advocate, and worked for many years in the social service field helping other people. He volunteered helping others and animals. He earned a wellness coaching certificate at UMDNJ-SHRP Department of Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Counseling Professions and was a recovery coach for the Bridgeway Residential Intensive Support Team (RIST).
Dan was preceded in death by his father, Richard C. Swarbrick.
Surviving are his loving wife of 20 years, Nancy Wertheim Swarbrick; his mother, Margaret L. Swarbrick, his sisters, Mary Swarbrick and her husband, Kevin Sullivan, Eileen Swarbrick and her husband, the Hon. Richard Latin, Dr. Margaret "Peggy" Swarbrick, and Patrice Swarbrick and her husband, Lawrence Dick, nieces and nephews Nora Kenny-Eidson, Maureen Costa, Michael Latin, William Latin, Danielle Dick, and Lauren Dick; his mother-in-law and father- in-law Michelle and Merritt Wertheim, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Glen and Gail Wertheim, niece and nephew, Bradley Wertheim and Meredith Wertheim, his sister-in-law Barbara Burholt Wertheim, nieces Anna Burholt and Eleanor Burholt, and loving friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Rd., Piscataway, NJ on Saturday, August 18th from 2 to 4 p.m.

Peggy, My condolences to you and your family. It was a real joy to have spent time with Dan in the wellness coaching classes. He was fun and really kept the instructors on their toes. May you find comfort with fond memories of him.

I wish I'd had the time to get to know him better. He seemed like such a gentle soul when we sat together at Drewby's. Although his spirit has passed, his memory will live on in the people he affected and in the things he did. He made a difference, and that's the best thing one can say about anyone!
