In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Words cannot even begin to express the sadness that I feel for the family and friends of Luther Harrell. My thoughts and prayers are with them all and I hope that when sadness creeps into their hearts that they will be able to remember all the love that was in the Scottish Rites Temple on 12/07/07 and it will bring them solace.

He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word and I will always remember him.

My name is Leslie Gray, and I am an Administrative Law Judge for the California Department of Social Services. I worked with Luther for many years. I wanted the family to know that he was a pleasure to work with and always put people at ease. I will miss him and his wonderful welcoming smile.

My prayers and blessings to the Harrell family. I met Luther back in the early 70's and he made an impression on me that has and never will leave me. Luther ALWAYS had a profound effect on my entire being as a person, he always had the time to stop and talk, asking how things were and flash that beautiful smile. Luther will forever be a Stockton Icon in my eyes and missed deeply, but never forgoten

Harrell Family,
My condolences go out to all of you for the loss of a wonderful, giving, and inspiring human being. I have known Luther since our days at Edison High and have worked with him at HSA for the past 30+ years. I will miss his quick wit, friendship, and sage advice. He was truly special and a class act. He will be no less now that he has joined the angels. Till we meet again Luther, GO VIKINGS!!

MY PRAYERS GO OUT TO ALL THE HARRELL FAMILY. MAY GOD BLESS U IN THIS TIME OF SORROW. LOVE U CONSTANCE! AND GRANDPA! AND U ARE ALL IN MY PRAYERS.

I want to express my deepest sympathy to Luther's family. I am an Administrative Law Judge, and I had the pleasure of working with Luther in hearings. He was always professional, pleasant and helpful. He had a great sense of humor and an always obvious zest for life. He was a pleasure to work with and will be very much missed. I send my deepest sympathy at his passing.

To the Harrell family, you have lost a wonderful member of your family. May God continue to undergird you during your bereavement. Luther was a wonderful person and always has a word of encouragement for me during my career with San Joaquin County. He will be sorely missed.
