Being remembered matters. Continued Glory Deacon Earl

Although I took his business math class about 30 years ago, I have never forgotten Mr. Earl's great skill at teaching the most math averse student, and I have invoked his name many times over the years as the only reason I know anything about how to use math in the real world. His methods and practical applications were a revelation to me and I am so grateful for the skills he instilled in me. I am sorry for the family's loss of a great man who touched so many lives.

Sincere condolences to the family and friends. Acie and I first became friends at Augustana College. Our friendship continued throughout the years. Later in life we were co-workers at Black Hawk College for many years. Our children attended school together. I am grateful to have known Acie, his lovely wife Carolyn, and family. Acie contributed so much to the Quad City community. Including the faith community. He was a big man with a huge heart, a preciseness, and a sense of responsibility....

Our deepest sympathies go to the family of Deacon Earl. We shared a love for Motown and Jazz. He became a dear friend. He was a special man. Our condolences to the family. John & Keda Hancock

Mr. Earl made Business Math better with out having to use the formulas. I am a neighbor also and Mr. Earl was always kind and said hello! My condolences to the family!

My most heartfelt condolences go out to the families of Deacon Earl and, most certainly, to the Progressive Baptist Church Family. I am saddened to hear of his passing but I grin from ear to ear having been blessed to personally know this 'Big Man'. LOL Since officially joining the Progressive Church family in 1974 at the age of 18, Pastor Emmett L. Wiseman, Jr. presiding, I have been greeted with Deacon Earl's humongous smile as much as anyone. May his long list of memories also be your...

My deepest condolences to the whole family. Mr. Earl was the best Business Math teacher at Black Hawk. He could make everyone understand with his great stories. He always had time to help any and all students who asked.
