Not sure what to say?

Never forgotten..

Adam you will always go on living in my thoughts. A true friend and a loyal brother you never let me down. I'm sorry that God decided to take you now, maybe he needed a good runner for his track team in heaven I dont know but wha I do know is that you will live in our hearts for ever.

I will always always love Adam-- he knew that.

Cathy, Jim and Megan...you are in my prayers.

Love,
Ruthie

This is Adam's mom, and I wanted to share a writing with Adam's friends and family. A friend of mine just sent it to me, and maybe it will help all of us to cope a little, minute by minute. The author is unknown.

The Cure

We think that we get over things.
We don't get over things.
Or, you could say that we can get over measles,
but not a broken heart.
We need to make that distinction.
The things that become part of our...

"MY OLD FRIEND"

My old friend, I recall
The times we had hanging on my wall
I wouldn't trade them for gold
Cause they laugh and they cry me
Somehow sanctify me
This woven in the stories I have told
And tell again

My old friend, I apologize
For the years that have passed
Since the last time you and I
Dusted off those memories But the running and the races
The people and the places
There's...

In a rush to come to earth,
In every person, he recognized their worth...That's our Adam.
Passionate and giving no matter what the cost,
Encouraging warmly any who was lost...That's our Adam.
Big contagious smile and warm embrace,
Running along, head bobbing during every race...That's our Adam.
Shouting on the sidelines for anyone in need,
Speaking words of kindness to those in whom troubles breed...That's our Adam.
Eager to let loose...

Cathy & Jim: I was so sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. Remember, "earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal".
God Bless

How lucky we all were to know him.
I need to say goodbye although you're with me.
I stand beside your grave, yet you are here.
I miss you terribly and hope you miss me,
But when I turn to you, you're always near.
I talk to you as though you lived within me,
Not changed but simply moved in from outside.
Here, as always, you must be my guide.
You were and are and will be, just as ever,
In many minds and hearts, not only mine.

This poem is a tribute to Adam's vibrant spirit as both a supporter of cross country (during a season when he was spectating rather than participating, due to leg injury?)and as an impressive athlete in track.

Passing

Harriers ran unheralded
until a green and black
painted face appeared
whooping and hollering,
like cross country was big sport.
He was the carrier
of harrier spirit,
picking up their steps...
