The Paines lived across the street from us in Waukegan, IL for many years before moving to Virginia. Pete and Debbie were the most generous neighbors and my family and I watched their children grow up. Adam was a joy to know. I'll always remember the time he took his grandma Hazel on a "date". He was a kind and thoughtful boy who grew into a kind and thoughtful man. It is so sad for all who knew him that God called him home so soon, but our loss is Heaven's gain. On behalf of myself and the...

The Paines lived across the street from us in Waukegan, IL for many years before moving to Virginia. They were the most wonderful and generous neighbors and Adam was a joy to know. I will never forget how as a young boy he planned a "date" for himself and his grandmother. He was a kind and thoughtful child who grew into a kind and thoughtful man. It is too bad for us that God called him home so soon, but our loss is heaven's gain. On behalf of myself and the rest of the Machak family,...

I never had the honor of meeting Adam, but from what his friends say about him, he was a wonderful human being. My heart hurts for you Pete and Debbie. I'm so sorry for your unimaginable loss.

Adam was the kindest person I have ever known. He made everyone he met feel important. He also was a brilliant improviser and teacher. Adam was the teaching assistant in several classes I took at the Push Comedy Theater and co-taught an excellent class I was in last year. The memorial service was a perfect tribute to Adam with so much love in the room for him, his family and his community. My deepest condolences go to the Paine family.

I grew up at Christian Fellowship church in Waukegan, Illinois as a child. I grew up knowing Adam. The Paine and Davis family was very loving and kind and there for me and my family when we lost a loved one or was down. They were there to pick us up. We all had things in common, God's unfailing love, love for Him, and love for others. We are brothers and sisters in Christ!!! If we dont see each other again on earth, we will see each in Heaven. I want to see my brothers and sisters in Christ...

Pete and Debbie, my heart aches for you in the loss of your amazing son Adam. The tributes show what an inspiration he was to people everywhere. May you find comfort knowing he is with God in Heaven with all of our wonderful parents, grandparents, aunts & uncles, cousins and babies. What a reunion that must be

Dear Paine Family,
My name is Katie Ruckel and I went to ODU with some of the original Pushers and met Adam through our mutual friends.
I moved back to the area last year and have seen Adam a handful of times at the Push and in Norfolk. Hes always so welcoming and kind. We both grew up pastors kids and bonded over the mutual experience. Also, we bonded over the fact that the theater people were our people too.
Adam was a sweet light in the darkness and an...
