Dr. Hill was a special gentleman, teacher, a truly compassionate doctor and person. It was a wonderful experience to work with him, nursing at his office and in hospital. Learned a great deal from him at IMAY. He took the time to treat everyone with respect and humor. His Patients
were given thoughtful guidance and care. They loved him like a friend. An honor to work with.

At the age of 16, living on Franklin Park in Yakima, I had the good fortune to meet and get to know Dr. Hill. Because of the force of his personality alone, I was inspired right then to go to medical school, become a practicing physician and return to Yakima to practice. It was a terrific career and I have Dr. Hill to thank for it. I'll always be grateful to him for his inspiration.

Although I worked with Dr Hill for a very short time when he was with Internal Medicine he will always remain one of my favorite people. I answered phones when I started and he called me to get another physician on the line. I said "of course, and this is Dr???" He said "I am Dr Hill and you have 5 days to learn my voice". I was young and intimidated, not knowing who he was. That night I was leaving for the night and the coat closet was right by his office. I grabbed my coat and said "goodbye...

I started my Surgical practice In Yakima in 1984. Sherm was one of the people that I most admired as a colleague during the time our careers overlapped. My wife, Wendy Eider ( passed away 2016) was a Rheumatologist who worked closely with him and always admired him. He was a superb Physician and human being. I also remember his daughter Martha gave swim lessons to our young daughter Jessica back when. We also had the good fortune to be neighbors with his Family on Barge in Yakima. I am sure...

Judy, I didn't have the honor to know Sherman as well as I knew you, but my husband, Don, a pediatrician in Toppenish, recalls him as one of the most revered physicians in Yakima. Don says he was humble, gentle and generous in spirit. And very, very smart. Don remembers one case where he asked Sherman to see a teenager from a farm worker family, an athletic boy with a blood cancer. Not all physicians in those days were eager to consult on a patient like that because the chances of being...

Sherman Hill will be remembered by his neighbors in the Milldam Condominium Association for his gracious, wise interactions, his witty greetings and salutations, and his benevolent glow. It has been a privilege to learn about his deep roots, his medical legacy, and his faithfulness to family, Emerson thought, civility, and community values. As neighbors we extend to Judith and her family our sincere condolences and our gratitude for the time we had with Sherman. Beth Ribeiro
