I've known Adelaide since the '50's, when she was my neighbor just down the beach in Stinson Beach. We had a lot of wonderful talks and she helped me through some rough times. She was my best friend.

I met Adelaide about 1990 through my husband, Dick Ferber, who had known her since her Stinson Beach days, and fell in love with her immediately. She was such an interesting, humorous, intelligent, strong woman it was a joy and privilege to know her. I'll always miss her.

I found this quote by Patrick Overton amongst Mother's papers...and would like to share it with you:
"When we walk to the edge of all the light we have and take the step into the darkness of the unknown, we must believe that one of two things will happen. There will be something solid for us to stand on or we will be taught to fly."

Grandma Adelaide immediately made me feel like one of the family and always made me feel special to be her "newly added" grandaughter. I will forever keep Grandma Adelaide's smile and good humor in my memories. It's fun to hear my husband's stories of the wonderful memories and special times he spent with her as a child in Stinson Beach. She was a genuine, loving, but most of all, powerful woman who will be greatly missed. It will be nice to share Val's childhood memories with her great...
