I'll never forget that day when Malik, Da Mudman, came into my café - Java Love in Burlington, Vermont. 1996 perhaps? He was new to VT, and had just arrived from Hawaii. I was playing the classic Marvin Gaye album, "What's Going On" in the Java Love and he gave me high praise for my musical taste. We bonded immediately as brothers. It is extremely difficult to find the words to express my sadness. I pray for comfort for the Malik family. Have peace in knowing that the Lord's will is perfect. Malik was a sincere friend, and will always be in my heart and memories.
