I am saddened by the loss of Aileen. I knew her from St. Sabina, and all 4 of my children attended her pre-school. I really loved her. She had such a full life. God bless all of you as you mourn.

Aileen and I go back to grade school at "Rock" church and she also taught a few of my children at St. Sabina. A wondeful, smart person to be missed by all who knew her. When she moved to Cuba it was our loss, their gain. Mary Ellen Cagle, Florissant, Mo

Jay and Perry - We started missing your mom when she left to live in Cuba. She was a great influence and would always let us know what she was thinking.

Hope all is well with you and your family.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to "Aunt Al" and the entire Vanderbeck family, especially at this morning's service at St. Sabina. I will always remember the good times growing up with Al & Jerry and Jay & Perry, both in Florissant and down "on the farm" in Cuba. Al always had an open door for when my family and I would travel I-44 between St. Louis and Texas and she loved being around my children...she certainly loved to teach. She will be remembered with a lot of love and never forgotten.

Mrs. Vanderbeck was such an inspiration; full of energy and always had a smile on her face.

I attended her preschool in the late 70s and had such fond memories of that little red and while building in Florissant. She also attended my wedding back in 1998 which was a great honor.

My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. We were all lucky to have had her in our life.

Aileen touched so many lives and gave many so much joy. She was a true friend to my mother in Cuba and provided her with so much happiness and companionship. She was also a good friend to me though we did not see each other very often. She will certainly be missed. May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. I cherish my memories of her.
