I am saddened by the loss of Aileen. I knew her from St. Sabina, and all 4 of my children attended her pre-school. I really loved her. She had such a full life. God bless all of you as you mourn.

Aileen and I go back to grade school at "Rock" church and she also taught a few of my children at St. Sabina. A wondeful, smart person to be missed by all who knew her. When she moved to Cuba it was our loss, their gain. Mary Ellen Cagle, Florissant, Mo

Jay and Perry - We started missing your mom when she left to live in Cuba. She was a great influence and would always let us know what she was thinking.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to "Aunt Al" and the entire Vanderbeck family, especially at this morning's service at St. Sabina. I will always remember the good times growing up with Al & Jerry and Jay & Perry, both in Florissant and down "on the farm" in Cuba. Al always had an open door for when my family and I would travel I-44 between St. Louis and Texas and she loved being around my children...she certainly loved to teach. She will be remembered with a lot of love and never forgotten.

Mrs. Vanderbeck was such an inspiration; full of energy and always had a smile on her face.
I attended her preschool in the late 70s and had such fond memories of that little red and while building in Florissant. She also attended my wedding back in 1998 which was a great honor.
My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. We were all lucky to have had her in our life.

Aileen touched so many lives and gave many so much joy. She was a true friend to my mother in Cuba and provided her with so much happiness and companionship. She was also a good friend to me though we did not see each other very often. She will certainly be missed. May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. I cherish my memories of her.

Please accept my prayers and condolences to Mrs. Van Der Beck's family and friends. She was a great woman to so many people. She influenced and touched the lives of so many children throughout the years at her school. Aileen was a wonderful wife to Jerry, loving mother to her two sons, and grandmother to all of Jay's children. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all. I am very proud to have been part of the family for several years through my engagement to Perry. I last spoke to her in November, and I hear her voice like it was yesterday. She was a very supportive friend to me. I wish I could be there to say my prayers and farewells. I will continue to speak to her often.

So sad to hear of Ms. Vandebeck's passing. I haven't seen her in over 20 years but still remember saying hi to her every day at preschool. She was a wonderful woman and I will never forget her.

So sorry to hear of Aileen's passing. It's kind of weird calling her Aileen since as kids, we always called her Mrs. Vanderbeck. We grew up with the Vanderbecks, because in our young eyes, they were the builders of St. Sabina. We are proud to have grown up with them and the church at the same time. We will miss her greatly and know how happy she is now with Mr. Vanderbeck (Jerry) and the rest of the original St. Sabina parishoners who have gone before us.
Our deepest sympathy to the Vanderbeck family.

Please accept my condolences on your loss. Aileen will be sorely missed. We were high school classmates at Loretto Academy many years ago and have been friends ever since. Aileen's enthusiasm and interest in the world and its people made her a joy to be with. Our group of friends is sorely diminished by her loss.
