VARON, AL, 62, left us January 18, 2014 - much too soon. A great musician, golfer and overall fun guy. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Lynn, son, Jeffrey, siblings, Esther, Joe and Sol, special cousin, Dori, lots of other family members and everyone else who knew him. A memorial service will...

Not sure what to say?

There will never be a January 18th that I don´t remember that horrible day. Al Varon was more a brother to me than a cousin. We were born 2 days apart and grew up like siblings. He was funny, smart, talented and an all around wonderful guy. I miss him and the good times we had with all the Varons. When it´s my time to "leave the planet" as Alby used to say, I hope we will be together again playing croquet, Jai Lai, monopoly, black jack and Trivial pursuit. I always let him win!

There has not been one week that I haven´t thought of Al in the last 10 years. He was not only a central piece in our group of golfers with Jeff, Nick and many more wonderful friends; he also expanded his family by integrating me into it. I miss him, Jeff and Nick tremendously. The memories are wonderful, they keep them "alive" but life is not the same without their physical presence.

It is just hard to believe that "Albie" left us 10 years ago this January. I am so glad he sent me several CDs of his personal recordings. He will not be forgotten. Blessings to the Varon family.

Friend & Mutual Music Lover

Al and I connected again through this website a few years back. He related to me some of the wonderful experiences he has had in the music business. We go all the way back to Jr. High when I had the pleasure of "Albie" playing drums for us in my first band. We often played over my house on the prch and kids would come from a long way to hear us practice. We also played many times at his house we I got to meet his mom and dad. I also remember meeting his brother Sol who played a great guitar....

It has been almost 3 months since Al left us and I still am not able to cope with it. Al has not been to me the wonderful friend that you all rightfully described. In only a dozen years of sharing our mutual passion for golf, music, good food and... well, yes, bad jokes... he became much more: a true loving brother who considered me as an additional family member. I think of him every day, and every day it hurts me to know that there is nothing I can say or do to ease the pain in Lynn and...

I met Al in the late 80's. He was one of the most honorable men I've ever met in the music business. I can illustrate that with this anecdote. Al called me for a Thanksgiving gig at Riviera Country Club. They needed a piano player for background music. Anyway, Al asked me to quote a price. I did. His response? "No, take more." He paid me more than what I asked. That's unheard of but that's what convinced that Al was a prince among men. My condolences to Al's family but I take...

I recommended and purchased Epoxy products from Al mainly because of his special salesman abilities. He was very down to earth, truthful, helpful, and I enjoyed talking with him. I never met him but I know he was a good man. My condolences to the Al Varon family and friends.

We were so saddened to hear of Al's passing. I always knew if I had a keyboard question, I could go to Al. He was always generous with his time for others. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. He will be missed.

We discovered Al and Sol quite by accident one night at the Bakery Center years ago. My wife Karen and I were chaperoning our young teens, so while they roved in their packs we looked for something to occupy our time. Like the pied piper's flute, Al and Sol's awesome mix of rock and roll hits lured us to Cheese Burger in Paradise where they were playing at the time. Their light banter with each other and the audience was just as great a gift as their accomplished musicianship. Those times are...
