This morning I tried to make contact with Doc Hunter by email and found out of his passing today 8 July 2011. I attended his retirement at the FT Myers Officers Club Nov. 5, 2010 at his invitation and we had a ball laughing together. I am shocked to read of his passing and I want to pass my condolences to his family and many friends. Doc and I came to know each other when he began work on the SBS training Course at the Pentagon and we started with a cup of coffee. I consider our long...

Hello Hunter family, I am so saddened to hear of Dr. Hunter's passing. I can only remember him as a very handsome, distinguished, and kind man- and his smile was knowing. I was just a little girl then but the impression he made is lasting. Sending you all my love, Marlen Clemmons

Dear Judith, One of our guests at the Chatelaine knew that Alain was ill and had retired earlier than expected. He said he had been in hospice, but knew nothing more, and that you, my dear were probably not up to answering emails with the loss of your mother and sister earlier.

You know that you two were beloved friends and guests here at the B&B, one of our first "plankholders." (that first crew on a new ship.) I will write soon to update you on our lives, and touch base further....

Dear Judith and family,

I had heard Alain was ill and just this morning saw that he had passed away. Ed and I send our deepest condolences. We remember him as an always happy man with lots of stories to tell. Our times at The Chatelaine are happy remembrances. Fondly, Ed and Marge McGarvey

Hello Judy, Julaine and Alaine.

When I was very new to the Washington DC area, I would frequently get lost and very nervous when I was driving in DC. A few times I called Judy for directions and twice I got Alaine on the phone. He was so kind and calming and gave me specific directions. I remember his kindness always.

Of course Tom and I remember all of the years of friendship and fun also. We Eddystone girls who got together with our husbands who miraculously all...

Our father

Judith and Family,
My mom Linda and I, are saddened by Col. Hunter passing. When my dad passed away September 16th, I tried to find the phone number he had written when the Colonel called this summer, but I was not able to find where my dad had written it. My mother and I both talked with Alain during the call, when he expressed concern about my dad's health. My father was so please to hear from Alain after so many years. Alain was very special to my Mother and Father and we will always...

All the MacKinnons were shocked and saddened to hear of your family's loss. I cannot say more than to say that Alain was an exemplary human being. Your family will be sustained by wonderful memories. Love, Jan and family
