Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry for your loss. Al was a good person and always kind to me in high school

My thoughts and prayers go out to Jan and the family. Al was a good friend and fraternity brother at UVM.

I'm very sad to hear of the passing of our BHS class of '56 classmate. My condolences to you, Jan and to your family.

Our thoughts are with the Byington Family. Mr. Byington was a kind and thoughtful man. Our deepest sympathy, Mike and Mary Ann Ray

Ann, Kay and family... Thinking of you during this difficult time.

Al was an excellent chessplayer and will be missed by us all.

I was so sorry to hear yesterday that Al had passed away. Working with Big Daddy for many years, I appreciated his kind and helpful nature as well as his sense of humor. The office was never the same without him! Rich and I send the family our sincerest sympathies. Marie Gill

I am very sorry to read of Al's passing. I have wonderful memories of the times we had while at UVM and subsequent visits. Al was a friend, and good poker player, who I was fortunate to have known. Thoughts and prayers to Jan and his "kids".

Al is truly missed. He was a mainstay in the chess club for years. Fun to play, fun to visit with, a genuine well met fellow. And honest too. Al saved me quite a bit of money with his sound advice. A wonderful guy.
