Alan's support of and involvement in the North Carolina Textile Foundation nurtured not only the Foundation's growth but allowed those of us around him to be inspired by his dedication, determination and business acumen.

Mr Dickson and my father were fraternity brothers at NC State and remained friends thru the years. I only met him a few times but he was such a nice man. I do recall he would would refer to us kids as "chaps". He was great man and his passing is huge loss for the State of North Carolina. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
