To Marlene and the daughters, I was deeply saddened by Alan's death. I worked in Alan's lab in Woods Hole during several visits and also collaborated with him during your stay in Jerusalem. Marlene, Rachel, Laura, Claire, These are times when words are asked to take the place of tears. If only I could write tears. Alan was an incredible and beautiful man. Brilliant and with a wit. But more than that, he was a husband and father. His success is even more profound because yes, his memory IS for a blessing because of who each of you are and what you choose to do. May blessings, love, and happiness always be yours.

Marlene, I am so sorry for you and your family for the loss of Al. You dedicated your life to him; he could never have a more devoted wife. I hope you find comfort knowing that Al is no longer in pain. Prayers and love to all.
