Mr Kay. What a lasting impression you left on me with your french classes. Loved them! You were ahead of your time in terms of teaching engagement and pupil relationships. Also a pleasure to (briefly) know you outside of school, my dad, Bernie Brock, taking me to the pub before football and having a few drinks with you, Jim(Earle) and Clive(Thompson).
RIP Alan!

Mr Kay was my form teacher for most of the time I was at Haling Manor from 1973-78. He was a great teacher and had a good rapport with the pupils he taught and supported me when I went through a bad time at school. RIP.
