We have so many vivid memories of Alan - and it occurs to me that that's the best word to describe him: vivid! Larger (of course) than life, and as they say, a "bear of a man" but so relaxed, gentle, and thoughtful. Memorable, above all. And we will never forget him, for all our memories of good times with him and Jessica have stayed so (here's that word again) vivid!! We are so very grateful to have known him. Particularly as no one was ever a better friend to Art, who, even well-known as he was, as a Chicagoan and therefore a design-world outsider, and therefore needed the kind of inclusive help Alan offered him again and again. Who but Alan would have thought to do that? And what better soulmate for someone like Alan than Jessica, an equally warm, supportive, thoughtful person and cherished friend. They seemed a golden couple to us and always will be, can't be separated in our minds. Farewell for now Alan, loved knowing you!! Suzanne and Art in Chicago

To the Peckolick Family: My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.

We never had the lunch that we had planed. Now just see what you did. You never even called me to let me know that you would cancel it. So now we can never have that lunch.
And...Bye the way that's a tricky way to avoid lunch with me.

Aunt Jessica,
Uncle Alan was loved immensely and he left this world such a better place than he found it. Although I cannot physically be there this week in New York please know my heart is there with all of you. Uncle Alan was an abundant contribution to the arts and he will live on through many.
