Not sure what to say?

Potts, was so special in my life. He was my "Mr Holland" in real life. He taught us excellence, discipline, pride, and respect for music. He was a great teacher and a good friend.

He was a wonderful teacher and was so thoughtful that when I had to move to South Carolina, he had a going-away party for me during orchestra period in 1973. I used to babysit his kids so I could have violin lessons with his wife since we couldn't afford them. Because of the Potts family, I am a violinist in the local symphony, chamber orchestra and string quartet. Teachers are amazing people and he was the perfect example. Thank for all you did.

I was heartbroken to hear of this loss. He was my choral director my first year in high school at PHS. And at the time of his passing, he was a tenant in a property that my company manages. He was such a wonderful man. Prayers for the Potts family.

Alan Potts was one of a kind. Smart, funny, serious (when he had to be), and obviously gifted. His charisma endeared him to his students at Southwest High School and the church. I´m honored to be a part of the choir and performing arts at SHS and receive his valuable lessons. I´m sure he is either singing with, directing a part of or accompanying a host of angels. Thank you, Alan for all you did and the many lives to touched and inspired. Rest in peace my friend. Seth R. Larmer

Alan Potts was a great teacher of mine and also a man of great integrity. God bless you Mr. Potts for a life well lived.

I was in Mr Potts´ orchestra and choir for 4 years in the 70´s. We all thought he was a goofball (he was a grown up!) but man, did we have fun with him. The competitions he took us to. The huge amount of knowledge he shared. And the annual musicals! The annual musicals that he co-coordinated are the best memories I have from SHS. I´m pretty sure he´s already working on the angel choir in Heaven. Thanks for the memories, Mr Potts!

I loved Mr. Potts! Choir at Southwest high school was my favorite class.

So sorry for your loss. Many friends benefited from his talent
