Not sure what to say?

He will forever be my hero

Alan worked with my mother when she was a single LPN at Long Island Jewish Hospital from 1977-1981. He implanted my first shunt when I was only a few months old. I was born in May of 1977. I was first so afraid of Dr Roosenthal that he used to examine me in the waiting room. For years my mom would ask him whether it was time to replace my shunt of 20 years. But Dr. Roosenthal said no. Because it would not improve the quality of my life. It wasn't until I was 21 that he gave the okay to...

Enid,
I just learned of Alan's passing. I am honored that or a brief time, I was a small part of Alan's life. His generosity and wisdom were unmatched. I think of him often and will miss him. Alan helped to make me who I am today. God bless you, Nina, Amy and all the family.

Enid:
Alan was a truly special human being. His intellect, humor, and athleticism all in one. I remember many conversations at the Christmas parties, he was always so interesting.
Thinking of you with sorrow in our hearts.

I was saddened to learn of Alan's passing. He was a wonderful colleague at Winthrop-University Hospital, always cheerful, always positive and always a friend.

Dear Enid, I just learned tonight of Alan's passing. I remember Alan as being full of passion for medicine and learning- he truly loved his life's work. I am so sorry for your loss and extend my condolences to you and your family.. Wendie Grossman

Enid, you made a wise choice when you chose to room with Alan instead of me! It was a great joy for me to see how happy you were and how you adored each other. This is a devastating loss I know. May the memories serve to keep him in your heart forever. Thinking of you with much love, Leni and Barry

Our deepest condolences on Alan's passing. We remember many fun times at NSCC.
All our love,
Nanci and Larryi

Dear Enid and family-
I was saddened to hear of Alan's passing. I worked 17 years with him and did thousands of surgeries along side him. He was one of the nicest men I have come across in my professional career. He will be missed. My sympathies to all.
