Albert I. "Al" Stroud

I grew up in Halifax County, where Mildred Stroud Brooks taught me at Weldon Elementary School when I was in 7th grade. Later, when I was a young adult, her influential role in my life continued when her husband left retirement to become interim pastor and eventually pastor of The Good News Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids, where I had the joy of being a charter member.
