Alberta Tiscareño Muñoz gracefully entered into eternal life on Sunday, November 27, 2011; she was 94 years old. Alberta was born in San Juan De Los Lagos, Jalisco, Mexico and immigrated at an early age to the U.S. More than 80 years of her life was spent in the Harbor and South Bay areas having lived in San Pedro, Wilmington and Carson. Alberta was a longtime employee of the StarKist fish cannery on Terminal Island, last working in the quality control department. In her retirement, Alberta was rather active with senior citizen groups in Carson and served as president of the Carson VIP Club. Alberta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest A. a retiree from the Long Beach Naval Shipyard. She is survived by her three children: Ernest R., Albert, and Maria Elisa. She is also survived by her two daughters-in law: Anita (Ramirez) and Yolanda (Perez). She is survived by five grandchildren: Regina, Andree, Ernie Jr., Nancy, and Michael; a grandson, Albert Jr. preceded her in death. She is survived by eight great-grandchildren: Chloe, Emma, Joseph, Sophie, Daisy, Albert, Christopher, and Lily. A vigil service will be held on Thursday evening, December 1, at 6:30 p.m. at McNerney's Mortuary on Avalon Boulevard in Wilmington. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 2, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wilmington. Interment to follow after the funeral Mass at Green Hills Cemetery in Rancho Palos Verdes. A reception at the Green Onion in San Pedro will follow after the interment.
