Alex Rogers Obituary

Alex E. "Buck" Rogers passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at the age of 89 of natural causes. Born in Gulfport, Mississippi on January 15, 1932 to the late Alexander Eugene Rogers and Mazie Lee Spikes Rogers. Beloved husband of the late Patsy Wells Rogers. Alex is survived by his children Stephen "Al" Rogers, Shelley Rogers Schenker and spouse William Schenker and Laurie Rogers Carlton and spouse John Carlton; grandchildren Jack Rogers, Gabriel Schenker and Luke Carlton; sister Beverly Rogers. He served in the United States Navy. Alex graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with his Bachelor's in Geology. While in college, he played football, baseball and was a member of Kappa Sigma. He played minor league baseball in St. Louis, Missouri. Alex loved to travel alongside his wife. Anyone who knew Alex knew he loved the water whether it was fishing or just hanging out on the boat. He also loved to cook, watch sporting events and he still visited with his high school buddies in Gulfport. A private service was held. The family plans a Celebration of Life in the coming weeks where friends can gather and share stories and the love they all had for Buck.
