Alexandra, my mother, was a great woman. Dedicated to family and to the community. Most recently she was so proud to be a grandmother. My heart aches as I think of all that she means to me and the void that will exist forever. She was who influenced me the most, and that will continue even going forward. I hold you in my heart, Mom.

How surprised and sad I was to read about your mom in the paper this morning. She was a wonderful woman- bright, dedicated, passionate and compassionate, kind, and caring. When she was on the school board and I was teaching, I always felt that the teachers had a voice of someone who really "got it." I will not be in town for her funeral, but would love to hear from you when you get a chance. Meanwhile, know that my thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family...

I first met Allie when I met with her to get her advice on a possible run for the BSD board. She so impressed me, and never failed to do so in all our future interactions. Allie was spunky, funny, intelligent, passionate, willing to stand up for those who did not have a voice, and had a great laugh...these are some of the qualities that most linger in my mind.
