Not sure what to say?

Al was my West Unit Principal in '58/59....what a great man and mentor of young people....he always cared and listened....always fair to everyone.....great sense of humor and warm smile.....My greatest regret was not being around to play golf with him....My wife and I saw Al at the FHS Class of '64 reunion at Moraine C.C. Al, we love you and will surely miss you....Take care, John Zeisler, Columbus, Ohio

Another member of the "greatest generation" has passed. Alfred Bolender was my high school principal at Fairmont West from 1973 to 1976. I always viewed him as a kind and friendly man. What a tribute that so many students over the years have been touched by a man who devoted his life to the education of children. I never knew about his World War II exploits, but I wish I had; I will wager that he had some wonderful stories to tell.

My Uncle, probably not knowing, had the greatest influence on my life of anyone person.I miss him dearly and will never forget the contributions he gave to me to make my life and career in the aviation arena a success. I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to share generous moments with such a wonderful man. I love you UNCLE RED.

Mr. Bolender was my high school principal (FW '69) and his sister, LeJeune, has become a dear friend of mine since my moving to Georgetown. He was respected and well-liked by his students and is well-loved by his family. He was a gentle man who led a good life and will missed by many.

We, in the Fairmont West High School Class of '69, were pleased to see our former principal at our recent 35th Reunion. His taking time to attend the event and welcome former students was appreciated.

Mr. Bolander was the principal at Fairmont West when I attended (Class of 1967) and he was so loved and respected by everyone I knew then. His skills as a pricipal added much to the Kettering School system and he will be missed. God bless you, Mr. Bolander.

Al Bolender was my instructor at Northridge High School. He was the best.
We will miss him at our "Class of '50" gatherings.

Sincerely,
Skip
