Alice, you probably know it's been more than a year since something called a coronavirus wrecked havoc on planet Earth. It's just plain crazy around here. I know you would have tackled this better than some adults!

I can see the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean from my bedroom window. Every morning, I hear the great roar that comes from deep within it. The seagulls swoop down to catch a meal. The waves wash up seashells, sand dollars and sugar quartzes. These things are constant. Just like your smile and sweet personality.

Another year without you and our world is lesser because of it. However, I know in my heart you are in a much better place, a place where the sun shines all the time and children laugh and play with abandon.
I'll see you in that better place.

De Lora,
You may not remember me. We shared a table in a computer class in college. I just recently learned about Alice. I am so very, very sorry for your loss! I never had the opportunity to meet her. But based on the comments of many others, it's clear that Alice was a wonderful person (like her mother). Always remember that the two of you will be together again in heaven! I hope you are doing OK.
