Alicia Hudson Obituary

Alicia Jeanne Hudson

Alicia Jeanne (Morgan) Hudson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend departed to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 2, 2022. The youngest of 3 children of John A. Morgan and D. Jeanne (Grisham) Morgan, Alicia had many family names that she went by, including Lee, Lee Lee, Acer Dean and Cia. Alicia's medical battles lasted nearly 50 years from SLE, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and better known as Lupus. Through her numerous surgeries and medical issues related to Lupus, she never wavered from her desire to be courageous, and looking forward.

Alicia was born in Duncan, Oklahoma on December 8, 1958, and spent her childhood in Duncan, Oklahoma, before moving to Muskogee in 1972. She graduated in 1977 from Muskogee High School. She spent 1 year studying at Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas, and then attended Oklahoma State University, where she finished her undergraduate education with a Bachelor of Science in Special Education/Mental Retardation and emphasis on Emotional Disturbance. While at OSU she joined the Delta Zeta Sorority and was a member until she graduated in 1983. It was here where she met the love of her life, Harold G Hudson. They were married on July 2, 1983.

Alicia spent her entire life working as an educator. She first worked as a social worker in a Mental Health facility, as a case manager for group homes of mentally handicapped individuals, and was also a coordinator over 5 group homes. Alicia went back to school at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin - Odessa, Texas and received her Master of Arts in Special Education in 1988. After moving to Spring,Texas and finding daycare was difficult for a working mother she founded her own company, NANNI, Inc. This proved to be a successful business for many years. She sold the business and went to work writing grants and doing consulting work for pre-school educators. She traveled for several years around East Texas working with teachers on how to teach many special needs pre-school students. Her last job was working as a curriculum developer for Kid Potential and Brain Potential in Conroe, Texas. This job became a passion for Alicia, as it improved children's potential and increased their intellectual quotient (IQ).

Forced into retirement early due to medical reasons, she has spent several years doing what she wanted including building scrapbooks, family genealogy, arts and crafts, garage sales or finding bargains anywhere she could. Recently she has spent her energy on her greenhouse, tinkering with succulent plants. Alicia had the spirit and energy to revive the most broken item. She created her own Fairy and Gnome gardens in her back yard.

Alicia and her husband Harold, had 3 children, Jaclyn M. Hudson, Victor J. Hudson and Victoria K. Hudson.

Alicia is survived by her husband of 39 years, Harold; brothers Jon M. Morgan and wife Bernie of Edmond, Oklahoma and Keith Morgan and wife Pam of Ninnekah, Oklahoma; daughters Jaclyn and Victoria and son Victor, all of The Woodlands, Texas; Grandsons, Jacob and Justin and granddaughters, Joshlyn (Jocelyn) and Zoey Jeanne; Father-in-law, Harold E. Hudson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Brothers-in-law Steven Hudson and wife Melissa of Copan, Oklahoma, and Troy Hudson and Paula Hayden of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; many nieces, nephews, friends and her Delta Zeta Sisters. Alicia was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jeanne Morgan.

Alicia has been a courageous and giving person her whole life. She was always there for her family and friends and was always looking out for others and trying to improve their life and capabilities. Her sense of humor, her loyalty, her dedication, her patience, and her love for family and friends will be what we all miss most.

A Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, November 15, 2022 with family present from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., 6600 Broadway Ext., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73116.
