Not sure what to say?

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. For those of us that were military communicators and amateur radio operators the term "silent key" is a telegraph key that no longer sends or receives message traffic. Al your key may be silent today but your sense of humor, the great conversations we all had with you and your sincere friendship will always be remembered. Fair winds and following seas. Tom K4NCG, RMC, USCG (Ret)

Al and I were both V.N. vets, pilots and Ham radio operators. There not many that had so munh in common.

To the Bacon Family,

My prayers go out to you at this time. Col. Bacon was truly a friend and Marine buddy. I worked with him at WTBN MTU Rifle and Pistol Team, and on the USMC Distinguished Shooters Association. If I ever had a question or needed advice he was there for me. He was very helpful to me while a was the Pistol Manager at NRA. He will be missed, Semper Fi, Al...Vaya con Dios.

Dear Bacon Family:

It is with deepest sadness that I extend my condolences to you on the loss of your beloved.

As Chair of the Senate Committee on Veteran Affairs and Military Installations, I am sincerely thankful for his valiant service and dedication to our great country.

May the love and the wonderful memories you shared with him help you when you need it most. He will never be forgotten, and your family will be remembered in my prayers.

I worked with Al when he was with Anteon. He was always full of energy and enthusiasm. My heart goes out to his wife, who he clearly adored, and his family.

Allan and I had several classes together at Jefferson High School. He was not only smart but also very nice! I am so proud of what he gave to our country all these years. I know you have wonderful memories, and may they get you through these trying times.

I worked with Al at MDA. He was a constant professional and a very down to earth person. May God comfort you during this time of loss. As you mourn his death, rejoice in remembrance of all the great times you've shared together. I pray that God give you the strength to continue on.

We were saddened to hear of Al's passing. Al was a great neighbor on Black Hills Way in San Diego. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jeariene, Leighanna, Lauren and Lindsay.

Al was such a gregarious person, one who was fun to be around. He was a catalyst with a positive attitude that contributed much to all that knew him.
W6GBG will long be remembered in the Fredericksburg area as a ham who could get things done! Jim McCloud KU4C
