Just learning of this. Allen was a great AFGE Union president. As a Union Steward I often worked closely with him and advocacy for employees has not been the same since Allen retired as Union president. He was the same age as I am and glad he had the chance to retire and have some non work years.

Such sad news. So so sorry for your loss. My prayers and thoughts go out to ALL who loved him. There are so many hearts and hands that he touched. I cannot physically be at his service and celebration today; however, please know that you are all in my thoughts. He will be missed by many of us for a very long time to come.

To Allen's family we send our sincere condolences. We worked with Allen at the VA. In the late 1990s, he created the 1st of its kind real-time database for our Homeless Program. His contribution made a big difference in the lives of Homeless Veterans. Thanks, Allen, for all the support you provided. You were a good man with alot of heart. Rest in peace.
