Not sure what to say?

Strangely, your family was on my mind today, so I searched family names. It was then that I discovered Allen's obituary. Although Allen, Joe, Jane, and Dean are my first cousins, we rarely had the opportunity to develop the bonds of our common ancestry beyond an occasional family reunion at Lake Greenwood. Nevertheless, Jane and I did attempt to further those bonds by writing one another while she was a student at USC. Then Allen came to Saluda to visit while he was a student at Newberry,...

Sorry for your loss, my condolences.

I am so awfully sorry. It seems like yesterday that he was the lifeguard at the pool. I still remember watching them head off hunting and wishing I could be just like that. He was scuba diving when all of us wanted to be like "Mike". For a young fellow growing up in Lake City, he sure was something to look up to.

Joe,
I am so sorry to read of the loss of your brother. I hope you and all your family will be comforted by your memories. Claire Weaver Cagle

I remember throwing the discus with Allen on the high school track team.
My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Allen's journey continues.
(Joe, thanks for all your help with algebra) Do you remember?

We have fond memories of Allen in high school. Such a handsome fellow and one heck of a football player!

Dear Susan:
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I hope you find peace and strength at this difficult time. Allen fought the good fight and was always so positive and upbeat. May he rest in peace.

Susan, I am so very sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Susan: I was saddened to hear of the passing of Allen. We were classmates at Newberry College; although we were in rival fraternities he most definitely was one of the "good guys". I know you and your family will miss him but trust you can take solace in knowing that love lives on forever...in the memories, in the stories, and in the hearts of all whose lives have been touched by such a great guy.
