Judy and family, my prayers are with you in your loss of a dear man, who quietly did so much for our class, in school and after. I especially remember one tumultuous reunion on Singer Island during a hurricane, when he and Leo kept us all smiling through the storm!

I met Alton at Conniston Junior High School, over 65 years ago. He was then, and always remained, a serious but happy person; a very dependable friend and a very good one. All of us were amazed at his recovery after the accident, before he even finished junior high. Many figured he was out of the picture, but he came back, stronger than ever.
He graduated from Palm Beach High with us, and was again the same wonderful guy. I lost track of him for years, and then ran into him again at the class reunions. We worked together on several of these, and he was the same – in spite of his serious physical conditions, he never complained. He spread happiness wherever he went.
I was very surprised and saddened to learn of his passing; my thoughts are with you in this time of sadness, and may you take comfort in having helped a wonderful man along the way.

One of the nicest and more talented of our schoolmates. Alton will always remain young in my memory - and isn't that life - a memory - be it ever so brief. He will be missed. Estelle
