ALTON M. JACOBS Alton M. Jacobs, CPA 78, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010. He was surrounded by his loving family and in the care of Hospice of Palm Beach County at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born on October 25, 1931 at Good Samaritan Hospital and lived his whole life in West Palm Beach. He graduated from Palm Beach High School in 1949, attended Palm Beach Junior College and graduated from the University of Florida in 1953. He was a founding partner of Guthrie, Jacobs and Eubanks CPA in 1965, from which he retired in 1992. He married his high school sweetheart, Judith M. Jacobs whom he met at Palm Beach High School, in 1952. He had a lifelong love of music and was a skilled piano player. He enjoyed carpentry and built his own home. He spent much of his retirement with his loving wife in the mountains of North Carolina, building a family cabin and making wooden crafts. He passed on his love of music and carpentry to his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and remained active in Palm Beach High School alumni activities. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judith M. Jacobs and their four children, daughter, Cheryl Jacobs, her husband, John Krieck and their children, Jonathan and Jillian all of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Janet Howard, her husband, Sanford V. "Buzz" Howard, Jr. and their children, Kevin, Kurt and Karen all of West Palm Beach, FL; son, James K. Jacobs and his wife, Anne Jacobs of Jupiter, FL; daughter, Jamie Jacobs and her partner, David M. Hauser of Morgantown, WV. At his request there will be no viewing or service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to The Nebraska Medical Center Office of Development, Omaha, NE 68198-7421 or Hospice of Palm Beach County.
