They were building Al’s home when we moved into our Waunakee home. Al was outside a lot with his two dogs. Our kids adored those dogs and Al was always extremely nice to them. I worked with Al at Emerson for many years, we were even roommates for a while. He was a good friend and always fun to talk to about anything. I lost touch with him after leaving Emerson, I am heartbroken to hear about his passing. We referred to him as AlG (pronounced like algae) partly because there were several people named Al that worked there, but also it fit him because he loved to go swimming.
