Dr. Aly Nahas

I knew Ali as a good friend and staunch colleague during many interfaith presentations we often chaired and led together. I loved him for his courage, steadfastness, devotion to peace and justice- as well as for his sense of humor and for the excellent hummus he brought to our interfaith meetings. He showed me what it meant to be truly Muslim, truly devoted to serving God. Peace be on him.

Aly was a valued friend to me as Supervisor of the Town of Brighton. He was instrumental in the establishment of the Islamic Center in our community, and I had the privilege of working with him and others on this wonderful project. His dedication to his faith, to interfaith friendship, and to our community will always be remembered. When my husband and I visited Egypt, I thought of Aly and his deep connection to his heritage. I miss him still and wish his family and friends the blessing...

Aly! It was great getting to know you for the brief time that I worked at The Landing of Brighton. Thank you for contributing so much to the Rochester Muslim community!

He was a great guy, always smiling and helping people, I will miss him.
