Read MoreTo the entire family: I have words at a time like this. But, I feel extremely honored to have known Amy in high school - and to have caught up with her at the reunion in 2006. Her bravery and optimism in the face of that 12 year battle that she fought is humbling and something we can all learn from. I feel horrible that she left us at such a young age. Her family remains in my thoughts and prayers!

What an amazing person Amy was. I went to Cornell College with her and was her roommate for two years, and she was one of the funniest people I had ever met! We shared so many good times together. I can't believe she is gone....my thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

I graduated from Topeka West with Amy. Though I didn't know her well, I was saddened to hear of her passing at such a young age. Her life as evidenced by her actions and gifts to the world was one that was was well-lived and a model for all of us.
