"ANDY"

Andrew Alexander Mattson "Andy" was born on August 18, 1990 in Merced, CA and passed away after a long, courageous and hard-fought battle on September 26, 2012 in the arms of his loving parents at UC San Francisco Medical Center at the young age of 22.
Andy loved music, photography, computers, watching movies, playing guitars, and spending summers with his family at the Pajaro Dunes on the beach at Monterey Bay. He graduated from Merced High with the class of 2008.
Our sincerest thanks go to the UCSF liver transplant team; the UCSF ICU nursing staff; Dr. Jag Reddy and Dr. Madhu Kris of Merced for their heroic efforts to save our beloved son, whom we will desperately miss.
Andrew is preceded in death by his loving grandma Ann Muncey.
He is survived by his grief-stricken parents, Dan and Pam Mattson; brother, Evan Mattson; aunt and uncle, Marilee and Claude Muncey; and grandparents, Mel and JoAnne Mattson.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting charitable contributions be made to the Central Valley Children's Hospital, 7555 N. Del Mar Ave. #101, Fresno, CA 93711 in Andrew's memory.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 1:00pm at St. Luke's Anglican Church, 350 W. Yosemite Ave., Merced, CA 95348.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home.

I'm so very sorry I missed his service, just now heard of his passing through a friend. Nothing but good memories of Andy. Even after he left St. Luke's, he'd always make a point of coming up to say hello whenever our paths crossed. He's truly missed.

i was honored to know a different side of angie, the father figure that helped my children do homework at night and get ready for school in the morning. He always made sure presents were there for birthdays and holidays. me and my childeren were blessed to have him in our lives. We'll never forget him.ill love him forever. hes the his to my hers.

I'll never forget all those fun times playing music in lem's garage, talking about music on the bus, drinking that vile bookoo energy drink, and Nick telling us "Get the blue box!" Those times go on forever.

My heart aches for the Mattson family's loss. He had a good heart and will always have a place in mine. The road for closure and to heal is a long road but I hope that The family can find comfort and support within each other, friends, and spirtually.
