Angela Crisara Obituary
Beautiful Woman, Beautiful Life.
Completing her final trip around the sun, our family's radiant source of love and joy was called to Heaven on her birthday August 25, 2025. Angela M. Crisara was a beautiful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, in addition to being a loyal friend. Angela spent her life sharing her limitless creativity, her sparkling wit, and her unwavering love. Those lucky enough to have had Angela's kind spirit touch their lives were blessed by her sweetness and warmth.
Angela always had a clever way of making life's events special. She was a Girl Scout leader for each of her daughters and a Cub Scout leader for her son. She started the Student Employment Service at Edgemont High School, Scarsdale, New York. This service linked students and community, offering short term work experience to teens wanting to provide a variety of services to their community. She was always active in her children's lives, supporting them through their many activities, dedicated to keeping their lives full, enriched and meaningful.
Angela's home was a gathering place for her extended family, out of town guests, and for her husband Ray's trumpet students from The University of Texas-Austin. She joyfully prepared countless lasagne dinners, favorite birthday meals, Longhorn tailgate feasts and traditional family holiday treats.
A talented artist, Angela's beautiful water color paintings were displayed in her home, and in her later years, she painted special one of a kind birthday cards for each of her family members and friends. So many lucky people were recipients of her beautiful artwork!
A true music lover, Angela sang in the First English Lutheran Church Choir for over 20 years and later, joined the St. John's United Methodist Chancel Choir and JOY Singers where she made numerous, wonderful friends. Her presence always brought smiles and laughter to rehearsals.
Born in New York City on August 25, 1931, Angela spent her early years growing up in New York. Her parents, Osvaldo and Giovanna Mazzucchi, were both musicians and Angela was raised around both music and a rich Italian heritage. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Frank Raffa.
In an elevator at Rockefeller Center, Angela met the love of her life, Raymond Crisara, a trumpet player. They married and shared a wonderful life raising their children in New York. Raymond passed away in 2014, and has been patiently waiting for Angela to complete her time here and join him in Heaven. Angela looked forward to that reunion and it gives us peace thinking of them together again.
Left to cherish her memory are her grateful children: Meg Houghton and husband Dana, Cina Crisara, Andrea Snouffer and husband Edward, and Philip Crisara and wife Tina. Her 6 beautiful grandchildren, her "honeys" were the great joy of her life: Jenny Houghton, Lauren Snouffer, Amilyn Houghton-Pippins, Emily Snouffer, Alex Crisara and Matthew Crisara. Angela leaves behind 3 great grandchildren: Jack and Noah Underwood and Ila Pippins, along with several dear nieces and nephews, and special friends from St. John's Choirs, whose lives she touch and for whom she cared deeply.
Angela's family will be forever grateful for her beautiful life and the profound impact she had on each of them. They would be honored for you to join them in celebrating Angela's life at these events:
